The lightbulb icon is used to

mark and insight

perform an AI split

highlight / light up a region of a decomposition tree

AI splits work by

determining which of all the available fields to drill into to get the highest/lowest value of the measure that is being analyzed

creating a random forest to split your data on all the available fields to get maximum separation on a measure

determining how to bin a continuous field to get the maximum variation of the measure being analyzed
